I give talks to local and regional groups about various aspects of my textile work and about the sheep etc. Details are given below.

“Highfield Textiles: from Sheep to Shawl
The story of a small business based around our rare breed sheep. How I started, all about the woolly products, my sheep paintings and anecdotes about the sheep.
A broad interest talk.
Archaeological Inspiration
A tour through time showing how I have combined my love of archaeology with my textile work
A contemporary embroidery talk with a bit of archaeology thrown in.

Generations
The history of my family seen through our involvement in textiles for at least 5 generations, starting in the mid 19th Century and coming up to the present day.
Primarily a textile talk with added family history.

Black and White
A potted history of Blackwork and Whitework using examples from the collection of Ann Mary Johnstone, together with modern work
Primarily a historical textile talk.

“ Six Sides” (new for 2017)
A talk about my current body of work which uses hexagonal patchwork as a base for embellishment, inspired by a bag of leftover patches found in my late mother’s workroom.
A contemporary textile talk.

Prices are £65 for 2017 and 2018 (may be negotiable for small local groups) and 40p per mile (free travel within 20 mile radius).
