About

This blog is intended as a light-hearted look at life on a smallholding in East Yorkshire. I hope to be posting about the animals, the wildlife, my craft activities and anything else that happens here!

We live in a small village in the Vale of York where we also rent some land and stables. We own about 15 acres of land about 4 miles away which is bisected by a disused railway line - hence the name of the blog. We also rent fields from friends in neighbouring villages.

We keep Rare Breed sheep and pigs, we also have chickens, horses, guineapigs and a cat!
